Einer der Spielehits der SPIEL in Essen 2012 war Robinson Crusoe. Das kooperative Abenteuerspiel lässt Spielende die Rolle von Schiffbrüchigen übernehmen, die auf einer unbewohnten Insel gestrandet sind. Ihr Ziel ist es, eine Siedlung zu bauen, sich vor Gefahren zu schützen und ihre Mission zu erfüllen.

Während des Spiels gilt es neues Terrain zu entdecken, Ressourcen zu akquirieren und den besten Platz für ein Camp finden. Hat man diesen gefunden, kann man einen Unterschlupf aufbauen, um sich gegen Regen, Kälte und Wind zu schützen, und einen Zaun darum zu errichten, um die wilden Tiere abzuhalten, ehe man anfängt nach Nahrung zu suchen und beginnt einen Wintervorrat anzulegen. Auf der Insel findet man zudem Hinweise auf das Schicksal der anderen Schiffbrüchigen und versteckte Schätze. Auch die Hütten der Eingeboren können nach Nützlichem durchforstet werden. Last but not least gilt es auch sein gesamtes Inventar selbst herzustellen, vom einfachen Kochtopf bis zu den nötigen Waffen.
Das Spiel enthält sechs verschiedene Szenarien.
