DGL stands for Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice — a carefully processed form of licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) from which glycyrrhizin, a naturally occurring compound in standard licorice, has been removed. The result is a concentrated, glycyrrhizin-free licorice root extract available in a convenient chewable tablet format.
Each tablet delivers 400 mg of standardised licorice root extract (10:1 concentration), equivalent to 4,000 mg of dried licorice root. The tablets are lightly flavoured with anise seed and sweetened with stevia leaf powder — no artificial sweeteners, colours, or preservatives.
