For a long time, it felt unfinished, as though it was waiting for something more. That "something" came during a family trip to Cinque Terre, Italy. We visited all five colourful seaside towns, where baskets overflowed with vibrant produce and the streets buzzed with locals

Artist's inspiration:  This painting has had a journey of its own. It began many years ago as a self-portrait—me at my easel, captured in motion as I explored new media and styles. For a long time, it felt unfinished, as though it was waiting for something more.

That "something" came during a family trip to Cinque Terre, Italy. We visited all five colourful seaside towns, where baskets overflowed with vibrant produce and the streets buzzed with locals and tourists selecting fruit in the warm Mediterranean sun. One particular shopfront caught my eye—Prodotti, meaning “products” in Italian.

Inspired, I reworked the original painting, gently layering the Cinque Terre scene over the self-portrait. Both images remain visible, blending the past and present. The result is a piece filled with warmth, colour, and movement—echoing both the evolution of my art and the joyful memories of that trip.
