Phenomenal vintage Norma Kamali OMO ensemble from Spring/Summer 1980. This fabulous set is Museum-Worthy and in fact, Museum-held by the Chicago History Museum. An alternative print shown here documented in WWD, August 1980. Kamali's innovative swimwear skyrocketed into the spotlight after Farah Fawcett's famous red one piece moment in 1976. This Flinstones meets Studio 54 number, dubbed the 'Savage' suit, comes in an amazing leopard print stretch lycra. The swimsuit style dress features a strapless, sweetheart neckline with a ruched, gathered center. Raw cut, animal like bottom that has very revealing sides - only 8 inches along the torso before the high slits begin. Pair this mini dress with your favorite bikini bottoms for the pool, or some patent leather hot pants for the club. Dramatic, cocoon jacket cover up with draping sides and cascading hemline, strong padded shoulders, batwing sleeves, and a single hook closure at the collar. This early Norma Kamali OMO set is an absolute roar.
