The main factor determining the quality of merino wool is its softness which depends upon the fineness of the fibres. We use extrafine merino (19.5 microns) which is some of the finest commercially available. This results in a supersoft yarn that feels gentle against the skin.
This yarn is so versatile and can be used for any next to skin projects (scarves, jumpers etc) as well as items where a little more durability is required, like worsted weight socks!

Suggested Needle/Hook Sizes and Gauge:
Needle Size: 4.5 - 5.5mm (US 7 - 9) needles
Gauge (stocking stitch): 18sts x 24 rows over 10cm (4 inches)
on 5mm (US 8) needles
