LP version. Includes six-page booklet in French and English. France at the crossroads of the '70s: the Chevance collection revolutionizes music for children. Mixing forward-thinking folk and avant-garde jazz, driven by a strong literary spirit, it's exceptional catalog was created under the direction of producer Philippe Gavardin, in the tradition of the Saravah label or iconoclastic publisher Harlin Quist. It brought together a band of classically inspired free musicians, propelling it's singers into orbit by exploiting all the fantastical potential of texts by Jean Tardieu, Robert Desnos, Jacqueline Held, and many others. More strictly instrumental, it's younger sibling, the Sonoriage collection completed the company, dedicating itself to the acousmatic exploration of children's familiar environments. The small collection named Chevance was founded by Philippe Gavardin in the course of the 1970s. Gavardin, notably with free jazz drummer Jean-Louis Méchali, forged the identity of this series of recordings for the younger generations: musically Janus-faced, definitely literary, impregnated with a surrealism that echoed the decade's psychedelic and libertarian experiments. Each record took a clear direction: modern fables, bestiaries, musical tales, cookbooks; words were the backbone of every release. In the chanson category, Anne et Gilles alternated with the Swiss actress Cristine Combe who had recently settled in Paris and wanted to sing Kurt Weill; as for the folk projects, Imbert and Moreau, were more in the hippie vein, took turns with the canonical pioneer Steve Waring. The musicians included many jazzmen from the adventurous French scene, including Cohelmec Ensemble, The Marvelous Band, and various mavericks like Teddy Lasry or Jacques Cassard. Initially distributed by the label Le Chant du Monde, Chevance was definitely included in the catalog of this venerable parent company when Gavardin started directing it. Mixing songwriting and avant-garde jazz, Chevance seems to be, first of all, Saravah's younger sibling. Cohelmec Ensemble bridged the two worlds, the teams got to know one another and often worked in the same studios. As for the literary dimension, it is right in the lineage of the American iconoclastic publisher Harlin Quist, whose activity in France left it's mark on the genre. The parallelism with Chevance goes even beyond questions of editorial, graphical, or typographical choices: the two worked with the same team of illustrators, which included Henri Galeron, Nicole Claveloux, and Patrick Couratin. While Chevance had strong literary roots, Le Chant du Monde developed, in the middle of the 1980s, another collection in a more abstract, rigorously instrumental line, far from textual concerns. Features Anne et Gilles, Steve Waring, Christine Combe, Jean-François Gaël, Le Groupe Organon, Alain Savouret, and Naomi Moudi.

"He Cleaned Up So Good I Almost Didn't Recognize Him"
Color: Light Gray, Size: Medium, Color: Light Gray, Size: Medium
Got this three-piece suit for my grandson's school event and LISTEN. This boy walked out looking like he had a business meeting and a reservation at a nice restaurant. The light gray with black trim is sharp, slim fit actually fits without looking too tight, and the vest pulls the whole thing together. He felt like a million bucks and honestly looked like it too. For the price, the quality is impressive, good stitching, decent fabric weight. Only wore it once so far but it held up beautifully. Grandma was PROUD.

Looks fine at a glance but definitely budget
Color: Ivory, Size: Large
I picked this up in the ivory color and the overall design leans very old school, especially with the oversized front buttons. They look nice from a distance, but up close they feel a bit cheap. The pants are one of the better parts, with a comfortable fit and an elastic waistband, and the included tie is a nice touch. Fit seems generally accurate, though having a size chart would have helped. The material is where the cost really shows, with a coarse polyester exterior and a smoother inner lining that helps with comfort. It gets the job done if you need something affordable in a pinch, just don’t expect it to feel or look high end up close.

Great looking suit
This suit is very good looking. To me, it is hard to find a suit in a cream color like this, that actually looks good. This one pulled off the trick for me! The jacket is well made and if you look at the posted photos you will see that the hankie pocket is slightly slanted. That makes this suit a bit unique among others. It even comes with the Red Tie included! It is well made, great looking, fits right and feels great.

Too Wide and Not Long Enough for Tall, Skinny Builds
I bought this for my 16-year-old son (he’s about 6’2” and very tall and slender with a normal pant size of 30" 34") to have something simple in his closet for school dances and occasional events. Gray felt versatile — something he could dress up or down without overthinking it. Sizing was the biggest issue for us. I ordered a men’s large because that’s typically what I buy him for sweat pants, work out pants and for the added length in shirts, but this suit was way too big through the waist and chest. For something labeled “slim fit,” it did not fit like a slim suit at all. The inseam measured at 31 inches, which is shorter than other suits we’ve purchased for him, and the size chart (which wasn’t available when I ordered) doesn’t even list inseam measurements at all — which really matters for tall, lean boys like mine. As far as construction, this feels more like an occasional-wear suit for a teenager than something a grown man would wear regularly. The jacket is lined, which is nice, and it includes extra buttons. But there were loose threads inside around the buttons and pockets, and some stitching — especially under the arm pit area it already looked like it could come apart with wear. The inside pocket material feels thin and not especially durable. The arm length itself was a great fit for my tall son, and even offered a little room for growth. The pants were similar. When I turned them inside out, I noticed loose threads where the seams meet, particularly at the crotch. The pocket lining material feels rough, and there is only 1 extra inch of fabric at the hem if you need additional length, where I am used to seeing 2 inches of material for adjustments. I noticed that my son wore his belt on his hips when he tried it on so he pant legs would look more of a normal length. Overall, this might work fine as a backup suit for someone who needs it once in a while and isn’t overly concerned with tailoring or long-term durability. But based on fit and construction, it’s not something I would purchase for my husband or for frequent wear.

I dislike the royal blue - I abhor the cheap, tacky buttons
I requested this product without being able to see the product photo or any information about it (beyond the title) because I requested a similarly-priced 3-piece suit on Amazon previously and that was a fine suit; it wasn't amazing, but it was decent. This is far worse and I don't think many people would feel good about spending the $75 on this. I would never wear this suit jacket in public because it would embarrass me due to the color and the buttons. I suppose the color is a subjective choice, and I like many shades of blue and have two blue suits. A dark blue would've been OK with me (preferable), or even a lighter blue could be OK I suppose - but this "royal blue" shade is nauseating to me, its as if its trying to be overly-vibrant. The buttons aren't just a problem because they're cheap plastic - their placement is reminiscent of a style of suit jackets I've only ever seen in history books or old period movies set in eras well over a century ago - nobody wears jackets like this anymore unless they're dressed in formal uniforms like police. The title says it could be for a prom? No, I would not ever wear it to a prom or suggest it as a suit anyone would wear to a prom. The pants are decent! This is why I'm giving it two stars. Initially I couldn't imagine wearing this suit in any way whatsoever but the pants fit well and have a very professional-looking crease right where it should be. The color is bad, but I'll keep it in the back of the closet for days when I have no other slacks appropriate for work that are clean. I greatly appreciate the elastic in the waistband - it has that new stretchy type which allowed me to fit into it without trouble even though someone of my weight otherwise wouldn't.
