Tilt mechanism for easy viewing and operation of the screen display, depending on the installation location, e.g., on or under the workbench or on the rack.

It shows information such as set temperature, tip's sensor temperature, and preset setting, clearly and widely. The viewing angle is wide, and the high-brightness display provides high visibility.
Priority Channel
A built-in sensor detects the handpiece in use and automatically switches channels. The unused handpiece stands by at the set temperature.

Improved Tip Shapes for Better Soldering
Soldering that was previously impossible or time-consuming can now be achieved with the new tip shapes.
Wireless IR Auto-Cal
The FX-971 works together seamlessly with the FG-100/101B Tip Thermometer for measuring tip temperature and automatically offsetting the temperature on the station.
Integrated Software and Performance Tracker
The Hakko Control Software allows for direct temperature operation, setting presets, displays and record real time tip temperatures, stores user profiles and auto-cal measurements.
Auto-Sleep / Auto-Shutoff
The built-in sensor of the tip allows for auto-sleep / auto-shutoff without connecting the station and the iron holder. This allows for more mobility in configuration of the station on your workbench.
Upgraded Iron Holder
The FH-215 features an integrated brass wire receptacle, sponge holder, safety hot tip removers and holds up to 4 tips with no sleep cable required.
Safe Tip Replacement
The tip removing attachment and tip insertion holder makes for easy and safe tip replacement
Self-Standing Iron Holder Without Base
The iron holder stays upright, keeping your soldering irons safe even without the iron base during maintenance and cleaning. Remove the iron holder base by pressing down the release button on the back.
Nitrogen Soldering
There is an option for Nitrogen soldering with the FX-9702 N2, FX-9704 Micro N2 Soldering Iron and FX-9708 Heavy Duty N2 Soldering Iron
