The plants and flowers are grouped by kind, uses, and habitats into seventeen categories, among them aquatic plants, carnivorous plants, grasses, rushes and sedges, orchids, ornamental plants, plants of commerce, mushrooms, molds and lichens, ferns, mosses, trees, shrubs, weeds, wildflowers, and vines.
