Isle of Hope, Georgia, nine miles south of Savannah, is a charming settlement with a story reaching back into the 1700s. Visitors to the area marvel at scenic views along the Skidaway River, grand homes built by early Savannahians, numerous historic sites, abundant wildlife, and water sports. This treasured lifestyle is one that islanders have waged heated battles to protect, and their collective experience is celebrated within the pages of this impressive pictorial volume. An original land grant from King George II of England, photographs of early families, streetcars, Barbee's Pavilion, the original Mysterious Santa Claus, sailboat racing, and more are among the many notable items included in Isle of Hope, Wormsloe, and Bethesda. Wormsloe Plantation, home of Noble Jones built on land leased from the trustees of the colony of Georgia in 1736, is highlighted here, as well as the nearby community of Dutch Island, where Matthew Batson conducted his legendary aero-yacht experiments in 1913. Bethesda, founded in 1740 by Rev. George Whitefield and now America's oldest existing home for boys, comes to life in vintage photographs and a touching poem written by an orphan in 1917. Images culled from both public and private collections evoke memories of a way of life almost extinct in today's frantic world-a way of life held steadfast by the residents of this singular Georgia community.Binding Type: Paperback

Brilliant for travelers. Makes life so easy
As travelers know, most hotels in Europe tend to be older (bonus for 100+ years) and may have a single outlet in the room. I looked for something like this IN Europe to no avail. My husband argued that I didn't need such a thing, but we travel with 2-3 laptops and 2-3 cellphones between us if work is involved. This adapter is AWESOME! I can't tell you how much I love it. It gives you extra space for the one wide charger we all are stuck with, without crowding out the middle plug. It put the USB ports above the outlets, not below, so your plugs don't block access. It is lightweight, compact, and has a long enough cord to reach where you need it to go. My husband has now absconded with it and I'm buying a second one. It is worth every penny and every inch of space it takes; both of which are minimal. Fantastic product. NOT paid for review, just LOVE LOVE this thing.

Perfect for Traveling
I bought this last minute as I couldn't find my other power adaptor and I'm glad I did. I used it traveling around the Mediterranean and it was perfect. The "surge protector" design worked well. It has regular plug outlets as well as USB-B and USB-C connectors. W as able to charge my phone, iPad and watch at the same time. It stored easily in my suitcase and didn't take up too much space. I am very pleased with this product.

Perfect 220V Power Extender
Used this on a recent European trip and it worked perfectly, providing me with the extra outlets I needed to power my PC, multiple chargers and phones. European pin connection with US outlets and USBs. If you are planning to go to a country with 220V, don't expect to use a 110V extender with a plug connector - it may well burn out (though most electronics will work fine when connected to 220 via their chargers and power supplies). This one is compact and easy to pack. I have a larger 220v strip purchased for another trip and this one will be traveling with me from now on due to its compact size and lower weight.

Absolutely great for travel but not enough wattage to charge a macbook without the macbook brick.
So this thing is absolutely amazing for travel. The extension cord is a great length. The usb ports are secure and snug and it really works very well, it's by FAR my favorite adapter to travel with. I do have one nitpick - the photos clearly show it charging a macbook and yes, it can but not with a straight cable you still need to plug in the macbook power brick to it. I was hoping to avoid that but this adapter does not have enough wattage to charge a macbook without the brick. I included two photos showing the difference in wattage between this and an macbook power brick.

Great for use in Italy!
We spent 3 weeks in Italy in May of 2023. This was so easy to use for making sure all of our cell phones and power bricks were fully charged for the next day of discovery while in Italy. Plugged in effortlessly everywhere we stayed in Italy. We used all the charging ports and the USA outlets for two dual voltage power packs (remember the Italian grid is 240VAC not 120VAC like in USA) and my dual voltage CPAP power brick. No problems any where - it worked flawlessly. I would not suggest using it for curling irons or blow dryers or any very high wattage devices and anything you plug into it that does not say dual voltage on the device may be destroyed and possible catch fire! So do be aware of what you use with it as it does not drop the voltage to 120VAC from the 240VAC Italian wall outlets. Nice feature is that it comes with an adapter you can use when you get back to USA so you can use it at home till you pack your bags for the next trip!
