But after I returned home with it, I decided I should find a way to use it in a painting. “Details ’63” is a very unique concept for me to paint. Last June at Bloomington Gold’s swap meet, I bought an aluminum finned Valve Cover as an item to hang on the studio wall because I’ve always been fascinated with its design. But after I returned home with it, I decided I should find a way to use it in a painting. Since my “Splits” painting celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Corvettes' 1963 model, I decided to focus on a ’63 Fuel Injected Valve Cover, a new Corvette owner’s lapel pin, a crossed flags and Fuel Injection badge, and the rear deck Corvette badge. It truly is a tribute to the 1963 Corvette.
