Large oil on canvas, still life of flowers, Dutch school, 17th/18th century.This was labelled Dutch school, 17th 18th century, by the auction house, although I wonder if its actually 19th. Not as finely detailed as some of the masters of the late 17th century, but still, it has a really good look and atmosphere and on a grand scale too. Not as finely detailed as some of the masters of the late 17th century, but still, it has a really good look and atmosphere and on a grand scale too.

The light coming from the left, the classical urn-shaped vase, the moody background, the proportions and construction of the still life, the colours of the flowers and leaves - all make this a wonderful painting, especially from about 6 foot away.

Looking at the back, I'm guessing it's been reframed or restretched at some point in its long life?

Good condition, some small losses to the paint in the bottom left corner. Please look at the photos for more details.
