Showcased as part of his debut collection with Castle Fine Art, ‘Poison and Roses’ portrays a familiar figure from the 1980s underground club scene.

Taken from the title of his 2022 track ‘Poison and Roses’, in this piece Boy George reflects on his long-term friendship with legendary London club promoter Philip Sallon – a figure that often appears in his art and music.  Emphasising Sallon’s memorable ‘horned’ hairstyle, the artwork features delicate beading, tangled string and imperfectly placed pearls and sequins, revealing the ‘punk opulence’ of Sallon’s style.
