Forged Aluminum Rotor Hats

TTSPORT forged aluminum rotor hats, also called rotor bells, are the structural link between the brake ring and the vehicle hub in a two-piece rotor assembly. Forged 6061-T6 aluminum construction supports a stable mounting interface, accurate hub centering, and serviceable ring replacement when matched to the correct friction ring, hub register, offset, and hardware style.

Why a Forged Aluminum Hat Matters

In a two-piece rotor, the hat carries the hub-side mounting load, locates the iron friction ring, and helps separate the hot braking ring from the wheel hub. A correctly machined aluminum hat supports lower runout, more consistent pad contact, and reduced rotational and unsprung mass compared with a comparable one-piece cast-iron rotor assembly.

  • Forged 6061-T6 aluminum construction for strength-to-weight performance
  • Reduced unsprung and rotational mass when used as part of a complete two-piece rotor assembly
  • Thermal separation between the iron friction ring and wheel hub
  • CNC-machined hub register and mounting face for accurate rotor location
  • Serviceable two-piece design — replace the friction ring without replacing the hat when the hat remains within service limits

Specifications

Rotor Hat / Bell
Component Two-piece rotor hat / bell
Material Forged 6061-T6 aluminum
Manufacturing Process Forged blank, CNC-machined to final dimensions
Function Connects the friction ring to the vehicle hub in a two-piece rotor assembly
Compatibility Compatible TTSPORT two-piece brake ring assemblies
Hardware Requirement Must match the ring bolt pattern, bolt count, offset, and fixed or floating hardware style
Serviceability Friction ring can be replaced separately when the hat remains undamaged and within service specification
Fitment Requirement Application-specific; dimensions must be confirmed before ordering

Spec values reflect general TTSPORT forged rotor hat construction. Exact dimensions are application-specific and confirmed at order.

This product page describes rotor hats only. Friction rings, rotor hat bolts, bobbins, nuts, washers, brake pads, calipers, brake hoses, brake fluid, and complete two-piece rotor assemblies are not included unless separately specified on the final order.

Required Measurements Before Ordering

Rotor hats are application-sensitive. Before ordering — especially when replacing one half of an existing two-piece rotor assembly — confirm the following dimensions with TTSPORT.

Hub Register

Center bore diameter that locates the rotor hat on the vehicle hub.

Wheel Bolt Pattern

Vehicle PCD and lug count, such as 5×114.3, 5×120, or another application-specific pattern.

Ring Bolt Pattern

Hat-to-ring PCD, bolt count, bolt diameter, and mounting-hole style.

Hat Offset

Axial dimension that sets the friction ring position relative to the hub and caliper centerline.

Ring Diameter & Width

Friction ring outside diameter, overall thickness, and air-gap / vane configuration.

Hardware Style

Fixed bolt mount, floating bobbin hardware, or other application-specific ring mounting style.

Serviceability

Because the hat and ring are separate components, the iron friction ring can be replaced at service intervals while reusing the forged aluminum hat if the hat is undamaged, flat, correctly centered, and still within the required dimensional limits. This can reduce long-term replacement cost compared with replacing a complete one-piece rotor every time.

Fitment Notice

Application-specific part: Rotor hats must be matched to the hub register, wheel bolt pattern, rotor mounting pattern, hat offset, friction ring size, and hardware style of the target assembly. Incorrect specifications can prevent installation or cause rotor misalignment.

Installation & Safety

  • Confirm hub register, PCD, hat offset, friction ring bolt pattern, and hardware style before installation.
  • Clean the hub face, hat mounting face, and ring mating surface before assembly.
  • Use the specified rotor hat hardware only; do not mix unknown bolts, nuts, washers, or bobbins.
  • Follow the torque value, tightening sequence, and thread treatment specified for the rotor assembly.
  • After assembly, verify rotor runout, caliper centering, pad sweep, and wheel clearance before driving.
  • Inspect the hat for cracks, impact damage, worn mounting holes, corrosion, or fretting before reusing it with a new friction ring.

Safety: Two-piece rotor assembly work should be performed by a qualified brake technician. Do not install a rotor hat if fitment dimensions, hardware style, or torque specification are unknown.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a rotor hat?

A rotor hat, also called a bell, is the inner aluminum section of a two-piece rotor. It connects the iron friction ring to the vehicle hub and sets the rotor's position relative to the caliper.

Why forged 6061-T6 aluminum?

Forged 6061-T6 aluminum offers a strong balance of low weight, strength, machinability, and corrosion resistance. It is suitable for a precision rotor hat when the design, dimensions, and hardware are matched correctly.

Will these hats fit any two-piece rotor?

No. Rotor hats are application-specific. They must match the friction ring bolt pattern, hub register, wheel PCD, hat offset, ring size, and fixed or floating hardware style.

Can I reuse the hat when replacing the ring?

Yes, if the hat is undamaged and still within service limits. Inspect the mounting faces, bolt holes, hub register, offset, and hardware contact areas before reusing it with a new friction ring.

How do I order the correct rotor hat?

Provide hub register, wheel bolt pattern, ring bolt pattern, hat offset, ring diameter, ring width, and fixed-vs-floating hardware style. Contact TTSPORT to confirm before ordering.

Need help confirming rotor hat fitment?

Send your vehicle details, hub register, wheel bolt pattern, ring bolt pattern, hat offset, ring diameter, ring thickness, and hardware style. TTSPORT will help confirm the correct forged aluminum rotor hat for your assembly.

Works great. Wish pieces came apart.
Size: 15-Foot
My only suggestion is that the pieces are made more easily to take apart so that you can buy two and combine them for a longer ramp. But they don’t advertise that capability so i cant dock a star for it. Otherwise work great.

Nice and easy does it
Size: 15-Foot
Perfect for when you're camping with full hookups. This keeps your sewer hose off the ground and up just enough to drain while camping. It spreads easy and evenly. I like not having to put blocks, metal hooks, or something else to set the hose on. This is quick and easy. It's very durable plastic and if needed easy to rinse off. It comes with an orange piece that hooks onto it to keep it together to make it great for storing. We have a gray tank in front and gray and black in back. We use two sewer hoses when camping with full hookup. I bought two of these so one is under each sewer hose. The look of these is just "neater" versus tacky like my uneven blocks were. They are very stable once put in place whether on concrete or gravel campsite.

Perfect, Safe Hose for My Rain Barrel Setup
Style: 1/2-Inch ID, Size: 4 Feet
This Camco TastePURE 4-foot water hose has been perfect for my rain barrel setup. The length is exactly what I needed for a clean, simple connection without excess hose to deal with. I really appreciate that it’s drinking-water safe with no lead, BPA, or phthalates. Even though I’m using it with a rain barrel, it’s reassuring to know it’s made from safe materials. The reinforced design feels sturdy and durable, not flimsy like cheaper hoses. The 1/2” inside diameter provides solid water flow, and it’s made in the USA, which is a nice bonus. Great quality, reliable, and exactly what I was looking for. Easy 5 stars.

Wow, It’s 2026, I purchased in 2022!
Style: 5/8-Inch ID, Size: 50-Foot
I just looked up this hose again in my order history to get another. I was shocked to see that I ordered it four years ago. It held up through the most brutal northeast winter in decades, fully expected to it have burst, but no! Reliable and recommended!
