This work was originally drawn by Billy to celebrate the launch of the fifth instalment of his Born on a Rainy Day series at our Glasgow gallery.
It reflects Billy’s idiosyncratic, no-holds-barred comedy. Black-and-white lines and Escher-esque surrealism are underpinned by a sense of liberation, this time with a rainbow of colour.
Billy says: “I just want to keep honing the thing that I’ve got and make it better and better – that’s all. That’s the only ambition I feel."
