Elevate your home theater or professional presentation setup with the Chief WM120 Short Throw Projector Single Stud Wall Mount Kit. This high-performance mounting solution is built for precision, speed, and a clean, professional look. Engineered for fast installation, it uses an innovative quick-connect system that gets your projector anchored securely in minutes rather than hours. Designed to deliver flawless image alignment, the WM120 combines industry-first micro height and leveling adjustments with micro roll, pitch, and yaw control through the trusted RPA Elite mounts. Integrated cable management hides cables from view, creating a sleek, cable-free finish that enhances aesthetics while protecting wires from wear. Whether you’re installing a compact short-throw projector in a conference room, classroom, or living room, the WM120 provides robust support, flexible adjustment, and dependable durability to ensure consistently sharp, perfectly aligned projection day after day.

  • Fast installation with innovative quick-connect system: The WM120 is designed for speed and simplicity. Its quick-connect hardware minimizes hanging and fiddling, allowing you to secure your projector with confidence in a fraction of the time of traditional mounts. This streamlined process helps installers and AV technicians save time on every job, reduces downtime for events, and makes maintenance visits more efficient. The result is a clean, professional install that your clients will notice and appreciate.
  • Industry-first micro height and leveling adjustment: Achieve precise, flush mounting with micro-height adjustment that lets you fine-tune vertical placement to achieve the perfect screen apex or bottom edge alignment. The micro-leveling capability ensures the projector sits perfectly plumb on the wall, overcoming common installation challenges caused by imperfect walls or ceiling irregularities. This feature is especially valuable in multi-room installations where consistency across rooms is key to a cohesive AV experience.
  • Precision image alignment with micro roll, pitch and yaw (RPA Elite mounts): The WM120 integrates with Chief’s RPA Elite mounting system to deliver exceptional image alignment control. Small micro-adjustments in roll, pitch, and yaw translate into dramatically better image geometry, keystone mitigation, and lateral centering without forcing you into bulky, time-consuming manual tweaks. This level of precision is ideal for high-lidelity presentations, classrooms, and home theaters where image geometry can dramatically impact viewing quality.
  • Integrated cable management system for a clean finish: The WM120 conceals and protects all cables, delivering a polished look that’s as visually appealing as it is practical. The integrated channeling guides power, HDMI, and other signal cables neatly from source to projector, reducing cable clutter and the risk of accidental unplugging or wear. A tidy install not only looks professional—it also simplifies future upgrades or maintenance by keeping cables organized and out of the way.
  • Rugged design with universal compatibility and safe, secure support: Built to endure active environments, the WM120 combines a robust steel construction with a design that accommodates a range of short-throw projectors and VESA patterns commonly used in commercial and residential applications. Its single-stud mount ensures strong, secure attachment to standard wall substrates while maintaining a slim profile that minimizes wall projection depth. The combination of durability, ease of use, and flexible compatibility makes it a reliable cornerstone of any AV installation.

how to install Chief WM120 Short Throw Projector Single Stud Wall Mount Kit

  • Step 1 — Locate and anchor the mounting point: Use a stud finder to locate a sturdy wall stud. Mark the center of the stud and ensure there is ample space for cable routing and projector clearance. Pre-assemble the WM120 mounting plate if required and align it with the stud marks. Use the included mounting screws and washers to secure the mount to the stud, ensuring the plate sits level before moving to the next step.
  • Step 2 — Attach the wall plate and verify level: With the mount affixed to the stud, attach the wall plate or base component if it’s modular. Double-check level across the horizontal plane; tiny adjustments can be made with the micro-leveling mechanism to guarantee a perfectly even installation. A level projection surface ensures consistent image geometry and reduces keystone adjustments later on.
  • Step 3 — Prepare the projector mounting interface: Attach the projector mounting adapter to the projector using the appropriate screws, ensuring the threaded insert lines up with the projector’s mounting pattern. If the projector requires a specific offset or tilt, reference the WM120’s adjustable features to position the projector precisely in relation to the screen.
  • Step 4 — Connect and route cables through the integrated channel: Route power, HDMI, and any other signal cables through the integrated cable management system. Use the provided grommets or covers to seal entry points and to maintain a clean appearance. Keep cables tidy and avoid sharp bends that could affect signal integrity or cable longevity.
  • Step 5 — Align, test, and lock in final settings: With the projector attached, use the micro roll, pitch, and yaw controls to align the image perfectly with the screen. Fine-tune the height using the micro-height adjustment and verify keystone consistency from multiple seating positions. Once satisfied, tighten all adjustment points to lock in the alignment, perform a test run with your usual content, and confirm that the image remains centered and sharp under normal use.

Frequently asked questions

Versatile with all the ports you’re looking for.
Compact and really expands your options. I was using one of the ports on the MacBook Pro M1 for a second display and the other for an external drive and then switching back and forth with the charger. This device does all that and only uses one of the ports. Plus there are multiple USB OLD STYLE still available. No external power appears to be necessary, although since I use the Mac power supply in the dedicated power in port I’d think there’d be no issue.

Good product, I suspect, if it works. (Also Marketing Needs Improvement)
UPDATE: Nope, it's just the hub. :( It's either defective or not a good product, which is unfortunate. The stutter issue has been resolved, but I can still not use the dock to push an image to my secondary monitor (1080p). I spent several hours this evening updating drivers for my Lenovo Thinkpad E15 Gen2 (AMD) without success. FYI: This laptop DOES support PD+DP through USB-C, something I confirmed before trying to go down the USB-C route in an attempt to replace my ancient Diamond USB-A dock. An image was never sent to my second monitor, whether connected via HDMI or DP through the hub. In all cases, the monitor IS recognized by Windows, so some information is being communicated, just not an image to the monitor. During every attempt, when the monitor was first plugged in, responsiveness in Windows would stutter, lag, and generally respond slowly to my KB+M inputs until, eventually, the laptop caught up and was OK. I am highly disappointed and am considering returning both products, but the USB-C dock is definitely returning. It would be nice, but I don't need a 100W charger. My hope of replacing my current USB-A dock is diminishing at the price point I was hoping for, so we shall see if it's up to the task of the new 2K monitor I have on the way and go from there. Original: Buyer be cautioned: The Anker 565 USB-C also needs power for itself, which is evident if you think about it, but it's not stated anywhere that I could find, and it may not dawn on you until things aren't working quite right. Lack of power could cause many issues I've read about in reviews. The issue: Mouse movement would stutter every 5-10 seconds. Though Windows recognized my HDMI monitor in Device Manager/Display settings, no image was sent to it through the Anker hub. Current theory: So, the manufacturer's 65W USB-C charger for my laptop cannot FULLY power the hub with one connected HDMI monitor, two USBs, and Ethernet through the USB-C hub. I did not test the two USB devices (Keyboard and headset) as there was little need once the stuttering began, which was immediate. I have an Anker Nano 100W arriving tomorrow, and I will update the review once I've re-tested. Suggestion: My ask to Anker would be to *estimate* the power draw of their dock and list it somewhere with many warnings, etc. If they wanted to go above and beyond and add averages for peripherals and the like, that would be amazing, but if not, I would understand, as I'm sure that information could become dated fast. A power warning would have prompted me to consider the power charging situation, and I may gone with one of their docks (About a $100 increase) instead. But now that I'm annoyed, I'll purchase a 100W charger that I can use for my work laptop and elsewhere as needed. :) They are still getting my money, but not as much. They make amazing products, but small details like this matter to me as a consumer.

Anker 11 in 1 Docking station as a Starter.
This is an entry level addition to a PC. If more ports needed then the 14 in 1 or a powered Hub.

Works as intended
I've been into emulators lately and this is a great HDMI out with charging capabilities to go with your high speed charging brick. Doesn't work for everything, but I can attest it works with the AYN Thor and a Google Pixel 8 Pro, and presumably higher end Pixels. Both have emulators and both come thru my TV just fine. Also works with Kodi. I tried to use wired controllers, but quickly figured I'm better off going Bluetooth on that route. I haven't tried file transfer or anything because all that mattered to me was getting it to the big screen. I'd rather have a docking stand for my needs, but freedom and flexibility isn't a bad thing for this device at a decent price and cheaper than a dock.

Versatile hub adds the ports my Mac lacks
This 7-in-1 USB C hub from Anker has made it easy to connect my laptop to all the devices I need. The HDMI port consistently outputs 4K video at 60Hz, while the USB 3.0 ports and SD/microSD slots transfer files quickly without errors. I appreciate that the pass-through charging allows me to power my MacBook while using the hub, and the unit itself feels solid and well made. It's truly plug-and-play, with no drivers to install, and it greatly expands the limited port selection on modern laptops. The only minor drawback is that the hub can get a little warm under heavy use, but overall it's a reliable, convenient accessory that I feel confident recommending.
