A love affair with rock’n’roll come to life, ‘Saturday Night’ depicts a piano rocker, reminiscent of Elton John or Jerry Lee Lewis, in vibrant technicolour. Created in bold shades of red, yellow and blue, this piece captures the energy of live performance.

Billy fondly recalls the time he supported Elton John on his 1976 US tour. ‘Saturday Night’ captures a moment Elton John kicked his piano stool with his heel, accidentally sending it flying off stage. Detailed with Billy’s signature linework, the character is not meant to be anyone in particular, although as Billy says, “he does that leg thing which is pure Elton.”

“It was hard to capture it. I had to make it all technicolour to get the movement right. I love it, and I get jealous of it.”

This artwork is a hand-signed double hit flatbed giclée limited edition on 100% cotton Saunders Waterford 300gsm paper.
