Quick View
An outstanding filter for moon and planets for all telescopes, suitable for observing and astrophotography
♦ Reduction of light green and dark yellow light, thus:
♦ Significant increase in contrast and increase of reddish and blueish details for example of Mars and Jupiter
♦ Best filter for the Great Red Spot on Jupiter
♦ No annoying coloration of the image like in normal color filters
♦ Suppression of street lamp lights for general increase of contrast - skyglow filter
♦ Fine-optically polished and multi-coated, thus can be used in front of binoviewers or for photography
♦ Blocks IR radiation at the same time, thus increasing the sharpness of the image
♦ Suitable for 2" eyepieces and adapters
♦ Comes in a stackable high-quality plastic filter box
Description
Baader 2" Neodymium Moon, Planet and Skyglow Filter
This filter is one of the best planetary filters we know. In the solar system, the filter offers a significant increase in contrast especially on Mars, Moon and Jupiter, but the filter is clearly more versatile. For example, it increases also the contrast of many deep-sky objects like planetary nebulae and diffuse nebulae. The filter can be used photographically without any restrictions.
Special features of the Baader Skyglow Neodymium filter:
♦ Selective blocking dampens overexposure, but without suppressing important colour and brightness differences
♦ The transmission in the selected spectral ranges is more then 95%
♦ Fits into all standard filter threads; can be combined for example with the fine-optically polished Baader colour filters for planetary observing. Thus details can be enhanced specifically or detailed planetary colour images can be made with monochrome planetary cameras.
♦ If used with digital cameras, stars and planets are shown significantly sharper, as the IR range is blocked
♦ Fine-optically polished; can be used as single filter in front of a bino-viewer or for a focal projection with digital cameras (far before the focus!) without any loss of sharpness
♦ No incline in sharpness with magnifications above 200x as with "raw-polished" (flame-treated) glass plates
♦ Substrate (glass): Neodymium doped colour glass
♦ Coating: 7-layer hard-multicoating / 27-layer dielectric UV/IR blocking coating
♦ Ultra-hard and durable Ion-beam hardened coatings may be cleaned anytime without fear
