This product is mainly prepared and selected for decorative and display purposes.
Traditionally, Kishu Binchotan has also been used in Japan for water purification. If you wish to use it for water, please wash the charcoal thoroughly without detergent and boil it in water for approximately 5 minutes before first use.
For drinking water, use approximately one piece per 500 ml / 17 fl oz of water, and allow it to sit for several hours before drinking.
Please clean the charcoal regularly. Do not use detergent. Re-boil periodically for hygiene purposes, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Charcoal has been washed; moisture may remain inside the pores.
Do NOT use this decorative-grade charcoal as fuel. Heating may cause cracking or small steam bursts.
Store in a dry environment for best condition.
