In Tokaido, you are a traveller in ancient Japan. You will follow the prestigious Tokaido–a road between Kyoto and Edo (Tokyo)–as you try to have a rich and fulfilling experience. Pass through magnificent countryside, taste delicious culinary specialties, purchase souvenirs, benefit from the virtues of hot springs, and have unforgettable encounters on your journey.
Tokaido features a time-track mechanism in which the active player is the person who is furthest behind on the path. When you are the active player, you can move your character as far forward as you’d like (with required stops at Inns), gaining different types of set-collection benefits at each unique location.
What’s Different?
- The Stonemaier Games version of Tokaido is completely compatible with existing expansions, and it features these updates:
- Our version includes an Automa solo mode, expanding the player count to 1-5 players. The solo mode will be available both in our version of the game and separately (for those who already own Tokaido).
- Our version is manufactured by Panda using our standards for component quality (e.g., the panorama cards will be upgraded to the same 310gsm cardstock we use for all our cards). For any components that need to integrate with existing Tokaido expansions, we’re matching the composition for full compatibility.
- Our version includes a revised rulebook for clarity and accessibility (the gameplay is the same).
- Our version includes text on some cards and the character tiles to accompany the icons (so you don’t need to reference the rulebook to decipher combinations of icons).
- Our version includes reference cards for each player that explain the locations.
- We’re just making 1 version of Tokaido, not a standard and a deluxe version.

Gorgeous, thick, fluffy, neutral scent. PERFECT!!

Size and color as described, very soft and cozy. It's made of a thick material and sewn very well. Looks to be able to withstand years of use as a recliner cover for an elderly person. The soft cushiony feeling makes sitting or laying for prolonged periods of time much easier on a body.
I'll even get more from the brand for the pets to sleep on.

Very pleased with golden yellow color and sheepskin quality

For the competitive price of less than $80, I am very pleased with the quality. Thick, soft fur that sheds little to none. I had to stick my nose right in it to be aware of the sheep scent, which I found rather pleasant. Came vacuum packed but fluffed right up with a little shaking. Love the golden yellow. The color of my pics are pretty precise. I needed something to perk up my brown leather furniture and bring out the colors in my wall pictures. This does it! Miss Milly loves it too. Buying another color to further perk up my main bedroom.

Finally!! This is quality!!

I’ve ordered three brands claiming to be luxury sheepskin rugs. I’m returning two today. THIS is the one!! So happy, I just ordered three more . I’m returning two from another brand and I won’t mention their name. Side by side there’s no comparison. The back of this rug is stitched around the edges where the other rugs have raw edges. The other rugs felt OK, but not very soft and really full of static. THIS rug feel silky soft and is noticeably longer and more dense. The other brands I ordered were a little over an inch long(fur). THIS rug ‘s fur is approx 3” long and dense. Sooo silky and plush. The only downside -and the company actually sent a guide, explaining it… is there is a slight yellow tinge. The other rugs are flat out yellow. This company explains that bright white would include toxins like formaldehyde and bleaching powder. So I’m fine w that. Just don’t put it against a bright white wall or fireplace. Otherwise it’s not noticeable. I’m sure I’ll be buying even more to put throughout my home. I could not be happier with this!!! They understood the assignment❤️❤️❤️- also- the price. About the same as the lesser rugs that are going back. LOVE. Puppy does too🤣
Ok. I came back to edit my review. Still positive. I apparently ordered ivory not white. I have two white ones coming Sunday so will report back and show color comparison. I was saying that the white isn’t white white and the company does explain what that entails. Other companies selling same color are VERY yellow and this isn’t. Also no strong smell to it. 👍
