She works part-time at the Mound of Sound recording studio for her friend and boss Chandler Trapp (Miguel A Núñez, Jr.) producing radio commercials for clients and goes to night school. A true woman of the 90s!
Helping her keep it all together is her family. Her husband of eight years, Jack McGinnis (John Posey) runs a struggling sports good store. Her children, seven-year-old Danny (J. Evan Bonifant) and four-month old Delilah keep her pretty busy. Meanwhile, her somewhat bitter divorced mother, Gloria James (Kelly Bishop) and her sister, Stephanie (Mary Jo Keenan) frequently stop by.
Notable guest stars included Robert Gant, Dena Dietrich, Stephen Root.
