This flower appeared in my garden unexpectedly, and at first, I mistook it for a weed. The following year, I let it grow—and I’m so glad I did. Now it rewards me with delicate, creamy-white blooms that last only a short while, opening for a few hours before folding back into themselves. It’s a fleeting sort of beauty, a daily reminder that not everything is meant to last—enjoy the here and now.

Hibiscus trionum. Commonly known as Flower of an Hour, this annual is native to Africa and southern Europe but naturalized in parts of North America. Its name refers to its short-lived blossoms, which open and close within a single day, symbolizing transience and renewal.

It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
