Description

Vintage 'S' Carnelian Intaglio Signet Ring in 18 Carat Gold; Circa 1960Steeped in history, this amazingly vintage intaglio ring is a luxurious jewel of buttery deep gold! We adore the defined and detailed intaglio image which has been expertly carved by hand in sardonyx. At the centre of the piece is a hand carved intaglio. The carving is of an ornate letter 'S' with gothic flowing font style onto a carnelian. The carnelian has a lovely deep early red tone which perfectly complements the 18 carat gold setting. Steeped in history, this amazingly vintage intaglio ring is a luxurious jewel of buttery deep gold!

The signet ring mount is especially heavy here, which can be appreciated the most from behind.

Signet rings can be seen going back thousands of years, even beyond the Roman civilisation. Often used to show belonging to a community, to demonstrate family connection or as a show of status. Their popularity continues to this day in many forms.

This signet ring is a great example due to its timeless design and tactile setting of buttery 18 carat gold. This is a solid and tactile ring which would beautifully worn with your other jewels stacked up or solo for an antique treasure.

Points to ponder

Attractive shelves and good illumination, but must be turned on and off manually and individually. Not spaced to secure to studs so gigantic anchors are provided but nothing to hide or secure the AAA battery power supply required for each shelf. No ability to dim and no remote on these units at this price point but I will find a place for these shelves which are attractive and good value if you aren’t as reluctant as me to put heavy things on them or as lazy as me.

Vision came to life!!

I am pleased with my purchase, I wanted a spot light but I like the strip. The picture was taken in the early evening, it gives a great ambiance. Lights start to dim as the batteries die, easy installation. I used tan tape to cover the power cord, the shelves are above eye level so you can’t see it.

Amazing concept

They are everything I wanted for the aesthetic I was going for. They are a fairly simple install and they come with pretty good instructions. However, I don't know if it was my rush to get them up or if it was a design flaw but they are not very sturdy in the wall. I had seen a few reviews that said that they were a bit loose and I wasn't expecting heavy objects on it but I did end up needing to put support bars underneath them just because they kept sinking downward. Had I known that would have been the case I would have installed them differently and avoided putting holes in my wall at all but they're up now and it is what it is.
