Pro-Tip: Use a magnesium float immediately after screeding to level the surface and push down aggregate. The magnesium material helps bring the "cream" (cement paste) to the surface, which is essential for a smooth finish later. However, do NOT seal the surface with a steel trowel until the bleed water has evaporated; sealing it too early traps water and weakens the concrete.
