ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

"Javier Argüello is, without doubt, one of the most intriguing authors writing in Spanish today." -Zenda

This stunning volume includes seven fantastic stories that both recall and reinvent a genre founded by Gogol, Poe, Maupassant and Borges. In his subtle but efficient style, Argüello crafts unsettling, sometimes terrifying tales that test our notion of reality.

Each of the seven pieces captivates the reader with the rhythm of its prose and compelling characters and storylines. These include the dilemma of a man who thinks he is writing a story but is in fact a character in someone else's, trapping him in a web of fiction. We are kept in suspense by the incredible story of a worker hired by an astronomy professor to build an underground house, because something horrible is about to happen to Earth. We hear the voice of a person trapped inside an electrical socket, who describes the odyssey that led him there. A young man traveling around Europe meets a nineteenth-century author who made a pact with the Devil, allowing him to travel forward in time to see if his works have made an impression on literature. In short, this book is a small treasure about the nature and texture of time.

A Fun, Repetitive Book That Keeps Kids Engaged
Format: Board book
Dear Zoo has become a go-to read during playtime because the lift-the-flap feature keeps my baby actively involved. The simple storyline and repetition make it easy for young children to follow and anticipate what’s coming next. Pros: Lift-the-flap design encourages interaction and curiosity Repetitive text helps with early language development Short and engaging—great for babies and toddlers Sturdy board book holds up well Cons: Flaps can bend if handled roughly Very simple story, so older toddlers may outgrow it Conclusion: Dear Zoois a classic interactive book that works especially well for younger children.
