Rugged waterproof TPU coated 1000D nylon fabric provides ample water-resistance. For longevity of the waterproofing, the TPU treated side of the fabric faces the interior, eliminating sun exposure and scratches that could potentially break the waterproofing down. The reverse side of the fabric, on the exterior of the pack, provides a twill-weave look while thoroughly protecting your gear from the elements. Great socks for babies with narrow feet. However, the length is on the small side. I wish that I would have ordered the larger size (my baby is 8 months old and in the 86th % wearing the 6-12 month socks). One sock in the set has a hole at the bottom of the foot. Sadly I washed them before putting them on my baby so now it's too late to return them. I'd suggest carefully examining each sock before washing/using them to look for defects. The fabric is far better than the socks sold at Sprawl-Mart and they stay on better as well. Final verdict - I won't be ordering these online again since it is difficult for me to do returns even if I had noticed the defect before washing them. They are a very good design so I will look for some in stores to purchase.
