One Time Pottery Wheel Class July 12th (Sunday) 12pm-2pmIn this single session, you'll learn the fundamentals of centering and throwing on the wheel. What You'll Learn You'll be guided through, centering on the wheel, opening the base, and pulling up walls to create the shape. We'll cover how to refine your form and release your piece cleanly from the wheel. No experience is needed and every step will be demonstrated before you try it yourself. What's Included All clay, tools, and wheel time are provided.

In this single session, you'll learn the fundamentals of centering and throwing on the wheel. 

What You'll Learn You'll be guided through, centering on the wheel, opening the base, and pulling up walls to create the shape. We'll cover how to refine your form and release your piece cleanly from the wheel. No experience is needed and every step will be demonstrated before you try it yourself.

What's Included All clay, tools, and wheel time are provided. Your instructor will guide you through every stage of the process. Once your piece has been fired, you're invited to our monthly group glazing session to finish and personalize your vase. You'll be notified when your glazed piece is ready for pickup, or you can arrange shipping during class.

Who This Is For This class is for complete beginners and curious returners alike. If you've always wanted to try the wheel or just want a fun, hands-on afternoon, this is the place to start.

What to Wear

Wear clothing and shoes you're comfortable getting clay and water on. Aprons are provided, but clay has a way of finding everything anyway.

Completing any pottery class makes you eligible to join The MixMatch as a studio member, giving you access to our wheels, tools, and kiln time on your own schedule. It was meant to do however, after a few uses, I noticed that the can opener continue to move around and around the can even after the can lid had been cut open. in January 2026 it began to make more and more rotations around the can and the lid was not cut loose. After a few more uses. It just rotated and did nothing else. I sent an email to the company. I contacted Amazon about it. I’ve done everything that I can possibly see to do but I get no positive results. Consequently, I have a six month old can opener. It does not work. worked well for the first 10 or 20 uses; then the cutting edge just wore out (3-4mos.), so now my money was wasted. No explanation no offer, too bad.
