Constructed of polypropylene plastic, this sturdy platform was specially designed for use in the Big Shot Express machine as well as in the BIGkick, Big Shot and Vagabond machines. The Platform easily makes all Sizzix components thinner than a Bigz Die compatible with the BIGkick, Big Shot and Vagabond machines.
To die-cut or emboss materials using thinner Sizzix products (Clearlits, DecoEtch, DecoEmboss, Embosslits, Ink-its, Sizzlits, Simple Impressions, Texture Fades, Texture Trades and Textured Impressions), the Extended Platform is required along with Cutting Pads. To emboss one layer of thin material using Texturz Texture Plates, the Extended Platform is required along with an Impressions Pad and Silicone Rubber.
To die-cut materials using Framelits and Thinlits as well as competitors' wafer-thin dies, the Extended Platform and Extended Thin Die Adapter are required to create the Sizzix sandwich. Extended Thin Die Adapter sold separately.
The diagrams on the Extended Platform offer easy guidelines about how to make the perfect Sizzix sandwich.

Easy to operate.

Very easy to operate. I was a little confused on how it operated but all I had to do is sit it on top of the can and it operates by itself. When it is done, the lid can be removed or set on top of the can. It doesn't leave any sharp edges. I was using a hand held one but because I have arthritis in my wrist, it is worth the price easy enough for seniors or disabled

Only worked for 1 month.

This product was delivered on April 20th and worked great. It made a nice clean cut in the metal with no sharp edges and the top of the can lifted up nicely. Yesterday, May 24th, it stopped cutting and unfortunately, the return window closed on May 20th.

Opens the can weird, but functional

Ehhh it’s easy to use and gets it open, my only issue is that it doesn’t open a can like a regular can opener where it is cut on top of the can and you can push it in the can to drain if needed. Rather it cuts the outside of the can as it spins around, so it doesn’t fit inside the can. Not very handy when you’re opening a can of tuna and want to drain the tuna juice, so I had to keep my manual one, that I was trying to get rid of by buying this electric one 🙃
