Inositol Powder van Designs for Health bevat uitsluitend myo-inositol, de biologisch meest actieve en in de natuur meest voorkomende vorm van inositol. Inositol is een vitamine-achtige verbinding die nauw verwant is aan het vitamine B-complex. Het komt van nature voor in onder andere grapefruit, spruitjes, sperziebonen en volle granen, en wordt in kleine hoeveelheden ook door het lichaam zelf aangemaakt. De hoogste concentraties inositol worden aangetroffen in het hersenweefsel, de spieren en het hart.

Hoewel het lichaam inositol zelf uit glucose kan aanmaken, kan aanvullende inname nuttig zijn, met name voor het ondersteunen van processen zoals celcommunicatie, vetstofwisseling, insulinegevoeligheid, hormonale regulatie, slaap, stemming en neurotransmissie. Dit supplement bevat per dosering 700 mg zuivere myo-inositol en is volledig vrij van vulstoffen of andere toevoegingen.
