Deze populaire Loire-druif vond hier een tweede thuis. Met dank aan het koele klimaat, ongeëvenaard in de Nieuwe Wereld. Maar uiteraard is het klimaat ook zeer geschikt voor andere druiven. In de Sancerre, thuisbasis van de Sauvignon Blanc, wordt ook met veel succes Pinot Noir aangeplant.

Villa Maria Pinot Noir echt een succes nummer

Dat werkt ook in Marlborough. Logisch, want wie het klimaat bekijkt, ziet belangrijke overeenkomsten tussen de Loire en Marlborough. Zoals het verschil in temperatuur tussen dag en nacht. In Marlborough is dat zo’n 11 graden , in Sancerre rond de 10 graden, dus ietsje minder. Voor de Pinot Noir een belangrijke reden van zijn succes. De druiven voor deze wijn komen uit wijngaarden in de Awatere- en Wairau Valleys. De verschillende percelen worden apart verwerkt om te kunnen kiezen welke wijnen goed genoeg zijn voor de uiteindelijke blend. Na de oogst ondergaan de druiven een koude inwerking waarna deze mag rijpen op Franse eikenhouten vaten. Dit geeft een mooie structuur aan de wijn. De kleur is zoals we van een goede Pinot Noir mogen verwachten. Helder robijnrood. In geur mooie aroma’s van rode bes, aardbei, framboos en licht vanille. De smaak is zeer herkenbaar aan Pinot Noir. Zeer elegant met mooie nuances van jong rood fruit die worden afgewisseld met een aangename kruidigheid. De perfecte balans tussen kruiden, rood fruit en aangename zuren is subliem!

Great for the entire family but expensive
So far so good. The brand of boxers we had been buying changed their style and construction so we needed to find an alternative. These have held up well so far to multiple weeks of frequent washing and wearing from the entire family. We did size up from the usual 6/M we normally buy and ordered large to prevent the legs from rolling up which worked out great. Our daughter likes the length and how soft the fabric is for wearing under skirts and gym shorts and liners stay put without moving or leaking as another reviewer mentioned. Our son says they are comfortable and fit well being just supportive enough without being constrictive. We all agree that there seems to be not enough fabric in the back as they tend to be much tighter across the backside than the front and that also causes the waist band to ride lower in the back than the front. These have better seam placement than some brands we tried with no seam across the lady bits and no seam down the middle of the back side so they are more much comfortable but the cost is also much higher and that is why we're only giving it 4 stars. These will stay in the rotation until we find something cheaper that both us and the kids like.
