Gehamerde klankschalen
Het maken van gehamerde klankschalen is een zorgvuldig ambachtelijk proces. Elke schaal wordt met aandacht in de juiste vorm gehamerd, stap voor stap, om een heldere toon te laten klinken. Verschillende metalen zoals koper, tin, ijzer, lood, goud en zilver worden gesmolten in een oven. Voor bronzen schalen zijn koper en tin de hoofdbestanddelen, met kleine hoeveelheden van andere metalen voor bijzondere zeven metalen schalen. Het gesmolten metaal gaat in een mal, waaruit schijven van verschillende diameters en diktes worden gesneden. Deze schijven worden daarna met de hand gehamerd tot de gewenste vorm, na zorgvuldig wegen en meten. Meerdere schijven worden samen verhit tot roodgloeiend en met behulp van een mal in komvorm gebracht. Dit gebeurt alleen als het metaal heet genoeg is, want koelt het teveel af, dan wordt het bros en kan het scheuren.

Na de grove vorm volgt het fijne werk. Iedere schaal krijgt nu haar definitieve vorm en afmeting. Ook hier is opnieuw veel fijn hamerwerk nodig. De schaal wordt weer roodgloeiend verhit om de klank precies af te stemmen. Daarna worden ze van binnen en buiten zorgvuldig geschuurd en gepolijst, soms met extra beitelwerk, voor de laatste verzorging.

Let op: iedere klankschaal is uniek door het handmatige proces. De diameter kan daarom licht verschillen, de opgegeven maat is bedoeld als richtlijn.

The ONLY Bones/Chews Dog-Approved in Our House!

We have 2 purebred pitbulls, both adult males who weigh between 75-80 pounds. We bought a huge assortment of bones, treats, and chews when we first got our boys (they're rescues, and we got them at the same time). They strongly favored these Marrowchews, even over other, imitation products of different brands. We actually didn't know they had marrow INSIDE the bones for quite some time, and as soon as we realized that, we understood why our dogs loved them so much! The way the marrow is embedded in the bone, but a ways in from either end, is really clever. The dogs can surely smell it long before they can taste it, and it seems to keep them really interested and motivated at first. Then, they get to the actual marrow, and they are working on these bones non-stop until it's completely gone. The way they are made is also really unique; they sort of 'splinter' as they get chewed, and it actually helps with doggie dental care, cleaning the teeth and massaging the gums. There is no mess with these bones, no pieces flaking or chunking off, anything like that. They are also completely odor-free. With other bones/chews, they'll start them, but lose interest really quickly, and never so much as look at those again. These specific Marrowchews are truly the ONLY ones that keep our dogs interested, and for a significant amount of time, too. They'll work on the XL sizes daily throughout the day for a total of 1-2 hours, and they last a couple of months, easily. And keep in mind, these are pretty aggressive chewers! HIGHLY recommend these, and the price on Amazon is the best anywhere!
