The HDMI® AOC Armored cable from Sommer Cable is engineered to deliver uncompromised signal integrity across extreme distances while providing exceptional mechanical protection. Encased in a stainless steel corrugated armor, the cable safeguards its internal fiber optic conductors against crushing, pulling, and environmental stress. Despite its rugged steel construction, the cable remains impressively slim at just 5.8 mm with a minimal bending radius of 20 mm, making it suitable for demanding fixed installations as well as mobile or outdoor applications.
Its Active Optical Cable (AOC) architecture enables high‑speed transmission using glass fiber technology, supporting distances up to 100 m without signal degradation. UHD performance reaches 18 Gbit/s, allowing 4K at 60 fps, YUV 4:4:4, HDR, ARC, HEC, EDID, and full HDMI High Speed audio format compatibility. The durable PUR outer jacket increases resistance to abrasion, moisture, and mechanical strain, while the integrated Glandmaster protective caps ensure connector safety during transport. Each connector withstands tensile forces up to 65 kg, and the cable itself up to 80 kg, making it a dependable solution for live events, broadcast setups, outdoor operation, and long‑run media installations.
