De paarse bloemetjes verschijnen vanaf de zomer tot in de herfst en trekken veel vlinders en bijen aan. ‘Lollipop’ is de laagblijvende variant van Verbena bonariensis en wordt maximaal 60 cm hoog.

De plant groeit snel en is zeer sterk, waardoor hij weinig onderhoud nodig heeft. ‘Lollipop’ is een geweldige keuze voor de border, rozentuin of in een pot op je terras of balkon.

Door zijn winterhardheid hoef je je geen zorgen te maken over vorst. Na de winter kun je gewoon weer rekenen op prachtige bloemen! Bij Garmundo verkocht per 20 stuks in potjes van 9 centimeter, goed voor ongeveer 3 m2 aan planten.

Verbena bonariensis ‘Lollipop’: wanneer planten?

De beste tijd om Verbena bonariensis ‘Lollipop’ te planten is in het voorjaar, wanneer de grond zacht en vochtig is. Plant deze geweldige vaste plant op een plek in de volle zon of halfschaduw, in goed doorlatende grond. Als je Lollipop in het voorjaar plant, zal hij de hele zomer door bloeien. Je kunt hem ook in de zomer planten. Hij bloeit dan later in het seizoen en groeit wat minder snel.

Hoe onderhoud je deze vaste plant?

Verbena bonariensis (IJzerhard) is een prachtige vaste plant die weinig onderhoud nodig heeft. In de winter kun je de dode stengels snoeien. Maar je kunt hier ook mee wachten tot het vroege voorjaar.

Het verwijderen van de uitgebloeide bloemen in de zomer stimuleert de plant om nieuwe bloemen te aan te maken. Zieke of dode stengels verwijderen is belangrijk om plaag- en ziektebesmetting te voorkomen.
