Geïnspireerd door zijn taxilicentienummer uit zijn Amerikaanse jaren, heeft Jean Leon in 1963 in Penedes een wijn gecreëerd die zowel krachtig als elegant is. Door de perfecte combinatie van de zachte Merlot en de robuuste Petit Verdot heeft hij een unieke blend gecreëerd. Handmatige Oogst voor de Jean Leon 3055

Elke september proeft het team van Jean Leon dagelijks de Merlot en Petit Verdot druiven. Wanneer ze de perfecte rijpheid bereiken, worden ze handmatig geoogst. De Merlot wordt eerst geplukt, gevolgd door de Petit Verdot. Beide druivensoorten worden afzonderlijk gevinifieerd voordat ze worden geblend. Na de blend rijpt de wijn twee maanden in eiken vaten in de kelders van Jean Leon, waarbij hij de rijke tonen van het hout absorbeert zonder zijn zachtheid te verliezen.

Deze wijn straalt kwaliteit uit vanaf het eerste moment. De Petit Verdot, zeldzaam vanwege zijn late rijping, heeft onder de zorgzame handen van Jean Leon perfecte omstandigheden gevonden in Penedes.
