There's "lo-fi," and then there's the JHS Pedals 424 Gain Stage. Born out of a drive to bring the sounds of legendary home tape recorder consoles to your board, the JHS 424 is lo-fi, indie rock guitar saturation incarnate. Sometimes you don't have an amp, sometimes you do – you just can't help but wonder what your guitar plugged into a tape recorder would sound like.

The 424 Gain Stage is designed directly after original cassette recording console circuits, using original UPC4570 and NJM4565 op-amps to replicate such recorders' sounds. What the 424 Gain Stage is after is simply the chunky, rubbery, broken-up, and blown-out sounds you would get from plugging your guitar into the tech's simplified circuit. What the 424 Gain Stage achieves is something on another level.

For leagues of lo-fi guitarists, there's little quite like the direct-in sounds of a lo-fi tape cassettes. Onboard, controls adapted from recorder consoles appear with Gains 1 and 2, Volume, and EQ settings. Your first Gain, a replica of a single-channel input preamp ("Trim"), fuels the sounds of the whole pedal by contributing heaps of volume and gain. Gain 2 shapes the gain structure of the pedal further by replicating a channel volume fader. These two gains interact closely with the pedal's overall Volume control and Treble and Bass settings to make for an effect that is highly interactive with itself as you come to new, saturated conclusions. A further function on the 424 Gain Stage that sets it apart is an onboard XLR out that allows the pedal to be used direct, without an amplifier altogether! A ground lift switch and soft-touch buffered bypass switching streamline the operation of the pedal even more.

With this pedal, the sounds of millennial lo-fi indie guitar are yours for the taking. In the spirit of artists like Spoon, Steve Lacy, and [artist redacted], the 424 Gain Stage sets out to fill the role of original home cassette recorders. We can't deny the demand certain original models have cultivated, but next time you're about to put a tape recorder on your board, maybe give the JHS 424 Gain Stage a try first?

See through and jacket has no structure
Size: Large, Color: Light Grey, Size: Large, Color: Light Grey
On the positive side, it does appear to be well made. The stitching is clean, the fit is decent, and overall construction seems solid for the price. However, the material is extremely thin much thinner than expected. It’s so lightweight that it is see-through. Both the jacket and pants are unlined, which makes the suit feel even lighter and less structured. I While I understand seersucker is meant to be breathable and comfortable this isnt even seersucker it is a striped polyester blend material. It may work in very hot climates but if you’re looking for something with more structure or durability, this is not the best option. The fabric feels about as thick as a paper towel. Overall, decent construction, but the thinness and lack of a defined shape and lining are disappointing and makes it almost impossible to wear.

Surprisingly good product.
Size: 5X-Large, Color: Grey Black
Came exactly as suspected. When ordering a 3 piece tux I expected to find some sort of problem or something that didn't fit, but I was pleasantly surprised. Looks like the photos and fits as advertised. So very happy. Doesn't look cheap or gimmicky. Thank you!

Good quality stank fishy smell
Size: Small, Color: Silver
Beautiful but it stank badly smells like fish. Wherever y'all have it stored in when y'all have it needs to be cleaned out. Now I have to take it to get cleaned/steamed because of this stank smell. Need give me some of my money back much as it cost. Now I got to pay get smell out of it is ridiculous. Cost to much for this to smell how it smells.
