We are excited to share progress at Collins Park Municipal Golf Course Stream Restoration. The current offseason work is progressing well and is keeping in line with the main goals of the project of restoration plans involve daylighting and enhancing this stretch of the creek with natural features to improve habitat for bugs, fish, wildlife, and including fellow golfers.
These actions provide recreation for the community while improving the ability of the creek and riparian corridor to function more effectively as an ecological unit. These improvements are progressing with funding from Great Lake Restoration Initiative (https://www.glri.us/about) with City of Toledo managing and leading the work by Verdantas and Geo Gradel Co. (https://geogradelco.com/about-us/).
Other partners for this project include the Great Lakes Commission, NOAA, USGS, Ohio Ohio EPA
