On Saturday, September 23rd, the 21st Annual Clean Your Streams Day will take place across the greater Toledo metropolitan area. Every year, around a thousand volunteers gather together at various sites in the Area of Concern to remove the trash and debris from the waterways, improving the aesthetics and providing a better habitat in and near the water for fish, bugs, and wildlife. Through collaboration with local businesses, community volunteers, and organizations, this event continues to be a great way to support beneficial use of our water resources. Mobilizing so many volunteers shows that many people in the area are willing to do their part for water restoration and reduce impairments within the Maumee AOC. Clean Your Streams day is partially funded from the Ohio EPA support grant for the Maumee AOC.
